About
Bio
Happenstance is an alternative/indie rock band from the Dutch provinces of Drenthe and Groningen. The band moves between the melancholy and layered sound of Radiohead and the energy of Nothing But Thieves and Muse, while deliberately exploring the boundaries of the genre. Influences from bossa nova and swing, unconventional time signatures and distinctive melodies blend with powerful, dynamic alt-rock. Their lyrics explore existentialism, hedonism and love, with both sincerity and a playful edge. The band consists of Marin on vocals and acoustic guitar, Oscar on drums, Ernests on bass and Ties on electric guitar.
